Why Share Your Story?
Because real experiences teach what rules can’t.
When you share:
- You help other teens learn from real situations
- You turn your experience into something meaningful
- You become part of a community that takes driving seriously
This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being honest.
What Kind of Stories Are We Looking For?
You don’t need a “crazy” story. The most powerful ones are often simple moments. We’re looking for:
- Close Calls – A moment where something almost went wrong
- Good Decisions – A time you made the right call—even if it wasn’t easy
- First Experiences – First time driving alone, at night, in rain, on the highway, etc.
- Lessons Learned – Something you didn’t realize until after it happened
- Parent Perspectives – Parents: your experiences matter too—especially the moment you let your teen drive alone
How to Share Your Story
Keep it simple. Just answer these:
- What happened? (Describe the situation.)
- What were you thinking or feeling? (Be honest—this is what others relate to.)
- What did you do? (What decision did you make?)
- What happened next? (What was the outcome?)
- What did you learn? (This is the most important part.)
- What would you do differently (if anything)? (Reflection helps others grow.)
Remember … You don’t need perfect writing. Just be real.
A Few Guidelines
To keep this helpful and safe for everyone:
- Be honest and respectful
- Don’t glorify dangerous behavior
- Focus on what was learned
- No blaming or shaming others
- Keep personal details private (no full names, addresses, etc.)
We review every submission before publishing.
What Happens After You Submit?
- Your story is reviewed by our team
- We may lightly edit for clarity (while keeping your voice)
- If selected, it will be published in our Real Teen Driving Stories section
- We may include a short insight to highlight key takeaways
Your experience becomes a lesson that helps others
That said, it’s time to submit your story!
